Situated alongside Lake Dunstan, the Cromwell course
is a layout that will challenge the championship player, while providing
plenty of enjoyment for the longer handicapper or social golfer
- 5249m from the women's tee (Yellow)
- 5885m from the club tees (White)
- 6208m from the championship tees (Blue)
The strategic design calls on the golfer to use every club
in the bag and rewards the well-placed shot with birdie
opportunities
Firm and gently undulating
fairways are set amongst sand dunes and plantings of marram
grass. The course is fully irrigated to maintain perfect playing conditions year round

Although the Cromwell course is situated further from the sea than
any other in New Zealand, it is built on genuine "links" style terrain and the native brown top and marram grasses enhance
the traditional links atmosphere
Cromwell's low rainfall and sand-based fairways combine to
guarantee year-round dry underfoot conditions and firm turf, inviting
crisply struck irons to firm, yet holding greens
The Cromwell Golf Club has hosted a number of national events,
including the South Island Amateur Championships, New Zealand Seniors
Championships and the Freyberg Masters (Inter-provincial teams -
over 40 years)
